Home Maintenance Schedule Generator
Build a maintenance schedule for your UK home, from boiler servicing to gutters and chimneys, based on what your property actually has.
Your Home
Choose how your home is heated and tick anything else it has. The schedule below updates straight away.
Your Maintenance Schedule
Every month
- Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
- Check under sinks and around toilets for drips.
- Check the boiler pressure is in the range shown in its manual.
Every autumn
- Clear gutters and downpipes once leaves have fallen.
- Insulate outside taps and exposed pipes against frost.
- Check the stopcock turns, so you can shut off the water quickly.
- Bleed radiators that are cold at the top.
Every spring
- Look at the roof from the ground for slipped or missing tiles.
- Check air bricks are clear and gullies are free of leaves.
- Check sealant around baths, showers and windows.
Every year
- Have the gas boiler serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Every few years
- Repaint or treat exterior woodwork before it flakes.
- Have the electrics checked with an EICR (often every 10 years for an owner-occupied home).
Turn It Into Reminders
A schedule only helps if you remember it. On Propvio, you can log each job when it is done and set a reminder for the next one. Tradespeople can confirm the work they did, so the record shows who looked after the home.
About These Intervals
These are common recommendations for UK homes, not legal requirements, except where a landlord duty is mentioned. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidance for boilers, heat pumps and other equipment.
For a rented home, see the Landlord Safety Certificates Checklist for England.
