The TA6 Property Information Form Explained
Published 7 October 2026 · Propvio Guides
The TA6 Property Information Form is one of the main forms a seller completes in England and Wales. Your answers form part of the contract, so getting them right matters. This guide explains what it asks.
Why Accuracy Matters
A buyer relies on your answers. An incorrect answer can lead to a claim against you after completion, even if it was a mistake.
If you genuinely do not know the answer, say so rather than guessing. Attach documents wherever the form asks for them.
The Main Sections
- Boundaries, and who is responsible for each one.
- Disputes, complaints and notices affecting the property or its neighbours.
- Alterations, planning permission and building control approval.
- Guarantees and warranties for work on the property.
- Environmental matters, such as flooding.
- Rights, informal arrangements, parking and other charges.
- Who lives at the property, and the services connected to it.
The Sections Sellers Find Hardest
The questions on alterations and guarantees ask for dates, approvals and documents, sometimes for work done many years ago. This is where most follow-up questions come from.

Heating, Electrics and Drainage
The services section asks when the heating system was installed and serviced, and whether the electrics have been tested. It also asks about the drainage.
A service history and recent certificates let you answer with dates instead of estimates.
Using Your Records to Complete It
A record kept as work happens makes the TA6 a matter of copying answers across. On Propvio, each job holds its date, the tradesperson and any certificates, ready to share with your conveyancer.
