How to Become TrustMark Registered

Published 7 October 2026 · Propvio Guides

TrustMark is the government-endorsed quality scheme for work in and around the home. Registration shows customers you meet set standards, and it is required for some government-funded work. This guide explains how to join.

What TrustMark Is

TrustMark does not assess businesses directly. It licenses scheme operators, such as trade associations and certification bodies, which check that their members meet TrustMark's standards.

Registered businesses agree to a code of conduct covering technical standards, customer service and trading practices.

Join Through a Scheme Operator

You apply to a TrustMark scheme operator that covers your trade. You may already belong to one, through a trade body you are a member of.

The operator checks your business, your insurance and your work, and then registers you with TrustMark.

When It Is Required

Energy efficiency work funded by government schemes usually has to be carried out by TrustMark-registered businesses, working to the relevant PAS standards.

For other work it is voluntary, but many customers look for it as a sign of trust.

Complaints and Customer Protection

Customers of a TrustMark-registered business have access to a complaints process. Some work may also come with deposit protection or a guarantee.

Explaining this in your quotes can reassure a customer comparing you against unregistered competitors.

TrustMark on Your Propvio Profile

You can add TrustMark registration as an accreditation on your profile for review. See Why Confirmed Job Counts Win You More Work for how your job record adds to it.
